Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toniz Collins (born in Mexico) is a Mexican American journalist. She is the host of SportsNation and is a SportsCenter anchor. Since 2016, Collins has joined ESPN. She is the daughter television journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins has been bi-lingual since nine years old, a valuable talent that enabled her to get her first job as a production assistant for Univision in Miami that allowed her to work with the producers of National programs like Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. Her first job was as a reporter for CBS St. Petersburg. CBS St. Petersburg affiliate after that. In 2009, she relocated away from Texas into Rio Grande Valley where she was a news reporter on KNVO TV 48 Univision. The stories she wrote about covered immigration as well as drug trafficking and other issues on both the Texas and Mexico border. Additionally, she worked as a Spanish reporter on the newscast at 5 p.m. as well as anchor and reporter for the newscast from nine p.m. on English as well as an anchor and reporter for the newscast of 9 p.m. in English, as well Spanish reporter from 10 p.m. In addition, she was frequently required to act as an anchor for sports and weather. She then anchored and reported at Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was given more responsibilities. In Mexico City she was conceived on November 22nd 1985. There is also an older sibling. She has an older sister. She divorced her parents within a short time and in the year 1995, she got married to a naval architect named Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo passed away in 2006 from kidney cancer. On a family vacation in Ohio, the younger Collins took a place alongside her elder sister. Antonietta was a senior high school student and had a clear idea of her goals for the future. She went to Mount Union University in order to find out if the school was suitable for her. Then, she fell in love with the campus. And they offered her major. She finished school and went to the university with a media studies major. Mark Bergmann - her professor was also the station manager at WRMU (91.1 FM) in which she was a part of. Her professor urged her to have self-confidence and was deeply moved by his enthusiasm for journalism.
